The Game

RTS from the acclaimed Homeworld and Warhammer 40,000 developers.
Set in war-torn Europe during the invasion/counter-attack of the allied forces in World War II.
Control Either side in skirmishes across the countryside and rural towns, taking key points and fortifying against and assaulting the enemy in turn.
Base building is however a minimum, the main focus of gameplay being troop management and movement while trying to hold specific map objectives, or totally annihilate the enemy depending on game mode.

Where we come in

We play this regularly throughout the week.

Me and Firetiger play this often in vanilla, and are currently looking for more opposition in team games. Everyone else also plays a mod called Normandy 44, which radically changes the units, and game-balance, generally making it a lot grittier and more hectic, but at the same time easing out the unit management (set armies).

Need to Know

We always keep the latest version ready, and you can grab the patches either by going to Multiplayer -> online and clicking yes to download, or using the Update Site (is now redundant, try):

Currently there is no “Patch-all versions” file available, so it’s best to get them all in your spare time and keep them archived for later use.

We also keep the normandy44 mod updated, the latest version is always available in a link at the bottom of the first post in this thread:

Nb: If you wish to play this or ANY other mod, you must either, not patch past version 1.71 of Vanilla CoH, or keep a backup version in a different folder to be able to use any current mods. I Currently use a version 1.71 install to play mods with hamachi and a regular install patched to the latest version to play in the online servers.

We typically play over Hamachi when 2 or more of us are on TeamSpeak and up for a round or two.
