About the Unforgiven
History
The Unforgiven was formed in 1999 by 3 long time friends who at the time ran by the aliases
Chainsaws,
FixXxeR and
TheMachine. Unforgiven was chosen as a consequence of the founding members appreciation of the well known musical group Metallica and indeed for the entire genre of music.
The guild was originally built around a little known but popular modification for Unreal Tournament called
ThieveryUT(TUT), the aim being to be the best at all aspects of the game inside and out. Using subversion and deception the guild became larger and more influential within the TUT Community. The ~TuF~ tag was adopted and the team became strong, for a time arguably the most powerful and skilled group of players Thievery had ever seen.
After a good number of years in Thievery its members began to grow apart and the dominace waned, with real life stepping in and taking hold of many of the core players the commitment to the game was significantly but understandably reduced. It simply wasnt possible to bend around the often inconvenient time zones that separated the constituents. During the summer of 2005 TuF changed from being a closed, secretive guild to an open gaming community again, real life was to step in and prevent the total realisation of that dream for the next 10 months.
Now
The Unforgiven is no longer a guild or a clan, its members need not wear a tag to denote membership although it is encouraged. Being a part of TuF does not exclude you from any other team or group, it is simply a sign that you have and display a measure of respect and friendship with the people here. Were not here to be the best or to win every round; we are not trying to be the elite. Were here to work together, to build, to share and most importantly, to have a good time!
